Descripción de producto

Premium Tension Wound L-Type Fin Tube (ASTM A179 Carbon Steel Base & AL Fin)

Welcome to our highly efficient L-Type Finned Tubes product page. Designed for optimal thermal transfer and robust durability, our L-Foot fin tubes feature an ASTM A179 cold-drawn seamless carbon steel base tube tightly wrapped with high-purity Aluminum (AL 1060/1100) fins. The L-shape tension-wound manufacturing process ensures maximum contact area between the fin and the tube, making it the most cost-effective and reliable solution for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers (ACHE) globally.

 1. Structure & Manufacturing Process of ASTM A179 Base & AL Fin Tube

The superior performance of our L-type finned tubes relies on our precise manufacturing and structural design:

  • Base Tube (ASTM A179 / ASME SA179): High-quality seamless low-carbon steel, providing excellent pressure resistance and inner fluid compatibility.

  • Fins (Aluminum 1060 / 1100): Chosen for its exceptional thermal conductivity and ductility, allowing perfect shaping and heat dissipation.

  • Tension-Wound Process (L-Foot): The aluminum strip is bent into an "L" shape and wound onto the ASTM A179 base tube under strictly controlled tension. The "L" foot of the fin lies flat against the base tube surface, entirely covering the base tube. This interlocking mechanism prevents the fins from loosening and offers excellent protection to the carbon steel against atmospheric corrosion.

 2. Chemical Composition of ASTM A179 Base Tube & AL Fin

Engineers require exact material specifications. Below is the precise chemical composition of our standard materials, fully complying with international ASTM standards.

Table 1: Chemical Composition of ASTM A179 Carbon Steel Base Tube

Element Carbon (C) Manganese (Mn) Phosphorus (P) Sulfur (S)
Percentage (%) 0.06 - 0.18 0.27 - 0.63 ≤ 0.035 ≤ 0.035

Table 2: Chemical Composition of Aluminum 1060 Fin Material

Element Al Si Fe Cu Mn Mg Zn Ti
Percentage (%) ≥ 99.60 ≤ 0.25 ≤ 0.35 ≤ 0.05 ≤ 0.03 ≤ 0.03 ≤ 0.05 ≤ 0.03

3. Dimensions & Tolerance Range for A179 + AL L-Fin Tubes

To ensure a perfect fit for your heat exchanger bundles, we maintain strictly controlled dimensional tolerances. We also accept custom specifications.

Specification Dimension Range Standard Tolerance
Base Tube Outer Diameter (OD) 15.88mm (5/8") - 50.8mm (2") ± 0.10 mm
Base Tube Wall Thickness (WT) 1.65mm (16 BWG) - 3.4mm (10 BWG) ± 10%
Fin Height 9.5mm (3/8") - 15.87mm (5/8") ± 0.20 mm
Fin Thickness 0.3mm - 0.5mm ± 0.03 mm
Fin Pitch (Density) 7 FPI to 11 FPI (Fins Per Inch) ± 2%
Unfinned Bare Ends 25mm - 100mm (As per drawing) ± 3.0 mm
Total Tube Length Up to 18 Meters + 5.0 mm / - 0.0 mm

4. Performance Advantages of A179 Steel + Aluminum L-Fin Tubes

  • Enhanced Corrosion Protection: The L-shaped aluminum foot tightly covers the A179 carbon steel base tube, protecting it from atmospheric and galvanic corrosion.

  • Cost-Effective Thermal Efficiency: Aluminum provides superior heat transfer at a fraction of the cost of copper, while the A179 base ensures high-pressure tolerance.

  • Operating Temperature Limit: Stable performance in working environments up to 130°C to 150°C (270°F to 300°F).

  • Easy Cleaning: The L-foot tension structure provides a relatively smooth surface, making it easier to clean with high-pressure air or water.

5. Wide Application Areas for ASTM A179 & AL L-Type Finned Tubes

Our premium fin tubes are widely exported and primarily used in equipment that requires heavy-duty air cooling and thermal management:

  • Air Cooled Heat Exchangers (ACHE) in Petrochemical Plants and Refineries.

  • Steam Condensers in Power Generation Plants.

  • Air Heaters and Coolers in the HVAC and Food Processing industries.

  • Compressor Coolers and Gas processing facilities.

  • Fully compliant with API 661 standard requirements for air-cooled heat exchangers.

6. Why Choose Us for Your ASTM A179 & AL Fin Tube Needs?

  • Strict Quality Control (QC): Every batch of ASTM A179 base tubes undergoes 100% Hydrostatic and Eddy Current testing before winding. The finished fin tubes pass a strict fin-to-tube bonding inspection.

  • High Output Capacity: We operate multiple automated L-fin winding machines, ensuring fast delivery for urgent project deadlines.

  • Export-Grade Packaging: We understand the fragility of aluminum fins. All tubes are securely packed in steel-framed fumigated wooden cases, separated by customized plastic/wooden profiles, ensuring zero damage during ocean freight.

  • One-Stop Customization: Send us your drawings, and our engineering team will provide a precise quotation within 24 hours.

It's hot and humid here, and our old wrap-on tubes used to rust like crazy. Switched to your extruded ones—the aluminum fin covers the steel pipe perfectly, so corrosion shouldn't be an issue.

Using these in mining cooling equipment under pretty rough conditions. They’ve been running for a month now and are super stable.

Heat transfer has been consistent since day one. Our outlet temperatures are steady, and the exchanger is performing exactly as we expected.
